What a stunner! Incredibly vibrant and a feast for the eyes. Most of this quilt is made from a overdyed green fabric with a printed black figure that could possibly date back to 1830-60, as this style of fabric was very common at the time. It is possible this fabric had been saved for around 100 years to be used in this quilt, or cut from another item to be reused. The feedsacks are all typically from the 1920-1930 period, most likely scraps from clothing or other fabric items. Each feedsack panel has a variation of colors and patterns. There doesn't appear to be a batting layer but the backing of the quilt is a thick, super soft cotton striped flannel that adds weight to the quilt.
