64”x78” fits up to a full bed
Truly an incredible piece of history. The central star is composed of shirting fabrics, indigos, wine reds, turkey reds, calicos and one fabric that has completely worn away to expose the cotton batting and creating a unique look. Some of the piecing has faded more in certain areas most likely from it being folded in half and displayed at the foot of a bed for a number of years. Around the star are large panels of cream floral calico and turkey red panels.
Machine pieced and machine quilted, has some fine blue wool ties within star pattern
All cotton
Solid white backing, no border
Cotton batting
Light-medium weight
Some staining throughout quilt consistent with age. Degradation of one fabric near the center of the star pattern
Wonderful quilt that would be lovely on display or for careful use
All measurements taken flat, all sales final.
